WHO Patient Safety Day

On the first-ever World Patient Safety Day on 17 September 2019, WHO will launch a global campaign to create awareness of patient safety and urge people to show their commitment to making healthcare safer.

Consultants Needed on Medical Devices

The World Health Organization is looking to hire professionals to work on medical devices projects for short-term contracts during the months of October and November 2019.

  1. Consultant to WHO – starting October (work can be done remotely).
  2. Short-Term Contracts to work at WHO HQ in Geneva (<60 days) as WHO staff (from October to November).
  3. Please note that the CVs received might be used for this current or for future requests in 2020 and will be analyzed on a case by case basis depending on the project and timeline.

The selection process will be based on the following requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in biomedical or clinical/medical engineering or bioengineering
  • +7 years of experience in the healthcare sector
  • Knowledge of hospital equipment, procurement process, development of technical specifications
  • Knowledge of medical devices nomenclature systems.
  • Availability to work in Geneva for short terms.
  • English proficiency, oral and written (requirement)
  • Proficiency in other languages: French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese (desirable)
  • Work in the Ministry of Health or National Agencies (desirable)
  • Candidates born after 1957 due to difficulty hiring post-retired candidates (desirable)
